Glad “I Love Trash”

In 1970 Oscar the Grouch release his seminal masterpiece “I Love Trash”, a rough, charming waltz that explored his love of garbage.

55 years later smart ad creatives working on the Glad trash bag account recognized a wonder co-branding opportunity.

I was brought in by legendary directors Speck/Gordon to create a new, updated version of the song for them to shoot to. No waltz, they said. Make it feel like cool modern Sesame Street they said.

Weeks of music exploration and to-the-second fine tuning goes into making this kind of thing perfect so that the actors can lip-sync and choreograph on set. Also I met Oscar, who was delightful, tho his puppeteer was grouchy.
